Alison Doody

Alison Doody was born in Dublin, Ireland on November 11, 1966. She is a model as well as an Irish actress. Following her small debut role as an archaeologist in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade in 1989's Elsa Schneider - a Nazi-sympathizing character in A View to a Kill (Bond film 1985) and then went on to perform the role of Nazisympathizing Elsa Schneider. Other roles include Siobhan Donavan as Charlotte in A Prayer for the Dying (1987) Charlotte in Taffin (1988) and Rebecca Flannery in Major League II (1994). Doody began her modeling career after she was approached by a aspiring photographer. She has since evolved into commercial modelling. Doody was averse to glamour and nude modeling, which that she incorporated into her acting. Once she caught the attention of the director of casting for an upcoming James Bond movie, she participated in A View to a Kill in the role of Jenny Flex. Doody's name was included in John Willis Screen World Vol. 12 which features the most promising actors in 1986. 38. Doody was still only 18 when she made her debut in the Bond role. To date Doody is considered to be the youngest Bond girl. A Prayer for the Dying which starred Mickey Rourke also had a role for Doody in the character of IRA Siobhan. Doody played a non-speaking part in the 1987 television film adaptation The Secret Garden appearing as Archibald Craven's wife Lilias in the movie of his dreams. She performed the role of Sapsorrow in an episode of Jim Henson's fantasy series The Storyteller, opposite John Hurt Dawn French Jennifer Saunders. In 1988, she played alongside Pierce Brosnan on the movie Taffin. Her most recognizable performance to date was her role as Austrian Nazi sympathizer and archaeologist Doctor Elsa Schneider opposite Harrison Ford in 1989's Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Doody has collaborated with three James Bond actors. Doody appeared in the 1991 British mini-series Selling Hitler with Jonathan Pryce. The show was inspired by the Hitler Diaries publication scam. Doody later moved to Hollywood. She was chosen to succeed Cybill Shepherd as spokesperson for L'Oreal She went on to play opposite Charlie Sheen in 1994's Major League II as Flannery his agent and girlfriend. Doody came back to acting in 2003, playing a small performance on the British comedy The Actors, in which Michael Caine played herself at an awards show. She starred along together with Patrick Swayze, in the 2004 TV film adaptation to King Solomon's Mines. Doody was a part-time actress in Danny Dyer's movie The Rapture (2010). Later, she guest-starred in RTE's Medical thriller The Clinic. She was supposed to be the star of a remake in 2011 of the classic horror film The Asphyx. However, this project fell through. Pam Jefferson was her character in the E4 comedy Beaver Falls for two seasons. The show also featured her in We Still Kill the Old Way (2014). In November she was awarded the Almeria Tierra de Cinema Award as well as a star on the Almeria Walk of Fame.
