Ellie Jane Goulding was born in Hereford England on December 30 1986. Tracey Goulding Summers is her mother. Her father Arthur Goulding comes from a funeral home family. Goulding's older sister Isabel and her younger sister Jordan have sisters. Alex is her brother. Alex and her brother are an bass player and a Hereford Band part of the Hereford Band. The mother of her child was a big advocate for her the instrument as a young child. At the age of 9, she started learning clarinet. She began writing herself songs around 14 years old, but it wasn't until she went off to college that she started to pursue the art of songwriting.
